What Makes us special
At Wild Roots Forest School, learning happens outdoors through real experiences. Every season brings new discoveries. Rain, mud, sunshine – we embrace it all safely. Kids build resilience, confidence, and joy through weather-rich experiences. Play is meaningful, deep, and developmentally powerful. Kids learn to collaborate, problem-solve, and create without constant adult direction. We also focus on emotional learning skills.

Our program is designed to support diverse learners through hands-on, child-led experiences in an outdoor environment. Nature provides opportunities for sensory regulation, movement, creativity, and connection, allowing children to learn at their own pace in meaningful ways.
Wild Roots Forest School is led by an educator with extensive experience working with the special needs community, including service on the Board of the Autism Society of Acadiana and specialized instruction supporting children with varying abilities.
We are committed to fostering a respectful, supportive environment where children feel safe, valued, and capable. Inclusion at Wild Roots means partnering with families, offering thoughtful accommodations when possible, and creating space for every child to thrive.
Our philosophy
Inspired by the philosophies of Reggio Emilia and Montessori, where children are viewed as capable, curious, and deeply connected to their environment. Nature serves as a teacher, offering endless opportunities for exploration, discovery, and meaningful learning.
